My favourite cocktail! I typically make mine with water instead of liquor for a refreshing mocktail version!

Ingredients

Servings:
2
  • 6 oz frozen sliced strawberries (about 170g)
  • 2 oz light rum (or water for a virgin version) (60ml)
  • 1 1/3 oz lime juice (40ml)
  • 2 tbsp sugar (25g)

Instructions

  1. 1

Coat 2 glasses with lime juice and sugar. Garnish with a strawberry.

  2. 2

Add lime juice, sugar, and light rum (or water) to a blender, along with about 4 oz (113g) of sliced frozen strawberries. Blend, blend, blend! Add the remaining strawberries (it's easier to process this way, but feel free to add all the strawberries at once if you're confident about your blender) and blend until smooth. Pour into your prepared glasses.

FAQ

Can you make strawberry daiquiris ahead of time?+
You can blend the strawberry mixture up to 2 hours ahead and store it in the fridge, but it's best to add the rum right before serving to keep the drink fresh and properly chilled. For a party, blend everything together and serve immediately over fresh ice for the best texture.
What can I substitute if I don't have frozen strawberries?+
You can use fresh strawberries with 1 cup of ice instead—just blend longer to break down the fruit properly. Frozen berries work best because they're already broken down and create that slushy texture without watering down the drink with melting ice.
How do I make a virgin strawberry daiquiri?+
Simply skip the rum and use water instead, as called out in the recipe—you'll get the same delicious frozen strawberry drink without the alcohol. Consider adding an extra ½ oz of lime juice for more flavor depth since you're losing the rum's complexity.
Why do you add strawberries in two batches when blending?+
Adding them in batches makes it easier for your blender to process the frozen fruit without jamming or getting stuck. If you have a powerful blender, you can definitely add all the strawberries at once—just go slowly and blend longer.
